Headquartered in Houston, Texas, ConocoPhillips stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “COP.” Description: The Senior Planner reports to the Supervisor of Planning and Scheduling and is responsible, working the Management Teams of the assigned projects, for assuring that plans and schedules are developed and maintained in compliance with ConocoPhillips standards and procedures. This involves providing technical assistance and appraising on an ongoing basis the quality and predictability of schedules and the accuracy of progress measurement. The Senior Planner will also be required to develop, maintain and lead seminars on the current Planning and Scheduling body of knowledge, including processes, tools and best practices. Key Roles & Responsibilities:
The specific responsibilities towards the supervision of the development of schedule and progress systems for a given project around the following activities:
· Monitor the development of project-specific Project Controls procedures, ensuring they comply with the Capital Projects Management System
· Ensure the scheduling, cost estimating and cost control of the project organization are fully integrated
· Identify potential gaps in Project Controls organization for the project
· Provide training and assistance the project for the implementation of the Project Controls processes and communication with the Project Development group
· Ensure that a reasonable level of effort has been invested in the preparation of the Project Controls requirements in the major contracts
· Assist in the analysis of contractor input for schedule information
· Gain and maintain full understanding and awareness of the schedule structure and contents, including the activities and relationships which make up the critical path
· Assists Project Controls and Project Management representative in formal project reviews
· Facilitate comparison of project schedule to information provided by the Benchmarking Department
· Organize and facilitates schedule risk review sessions
· Ensure the risk schedule is suitable for risk analysis
· Continually identify and report to the project scheduling inconsistencies and potential problems
· Monitor project-driven running of alternative scenarios and schedule-crashing exercises
· Monitor project float and uses float deterioration to notify project of potential problems
Qualifications
Basic/Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
· Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions
· Genuinely locally and internationally mobile, for missions and work relocation
· Minimum of 15 years project Planning & Scheduling experience all sizes projects (large and megaprojects) in refining, petro-chemical, transportation and upstream projects, onshore and offshore. Experience shall contain all project phases, including conceptual and detail engineering, regulatory and environmental permitting, construction (with extensive on-site assignment), modules prefabrication and assembly, turnaround, precommissioning, commissioning and start-up, in assignments of increasing responsibility, complexity and scope
· Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
· Demonstrable technical proficiency in the field of Planning & Scheduling, including use of software (Primavera P3 and P6, MS Project)
· Proficiency in the field of Schedule analysis and risking, including use of software (Pertmaster, Claim Digger, Acumen Fuse)
· Working knowledge of all Project Controls activities including cost estimating, cost control, project reporting and risk assessment
· Working knowledge of Project Service activities including document management, procurement, contract administration and general accounting
· Experience of and aptitude for working in a diverse cultural environment
· Strong facilitation skills, able to exert influence on project, partners and contractor staff in potentially adversarial circumstances
· Strong written and oral communication skills
· Ability to make succinct and meaningful planning presentations to all levels of management, including analysis, endorsement and recommendations of planning and scheduling deliverables
