An opportunity exists with BHP Billiton in Perth, WA for a Manager Resource Evaluation to provide technical geological and resource evaluation support to the mineral resource development programs of:
Resource Governance
Brownfield Exploration
Directional Planning & Growth
Mineral Inventory Analysis
Mergers & Acquisitions
R&D guidance
SKILLS SOUGHT
Applicants should be accomplished in the fields of Geology, Exploration and Resource Evaluation potentially across multiple commodities, preferably at both an operational and planning level.
This opportunity will hold a value leadership role within the Group and the wider BHP Billiton business therefore it is preferably that you have had management experience in Geology. Frequent domestic and international travel is also required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
In this role you will be required to participate in and lead various projects and events across BHP Billiton’s business streams such as:
Mine planning and ore reserve audits
Provide training and/or facilitation at the Asset or Customer Sector Group (CSG) level for resource and reserve reporting, range analysis, problem framing, value of information and decision analysis.
Provide support and coordination to Assets and CSG’s in resource evaluation and promote programs for quantification of modifying factors e.g. geometallurgy for informing mine planning optimisation
Participate and represent BHP Billiton on external research projects and dissemination of output to the wider BHP Billiton.
Provide guidance and input to internal research programs
Provide input to Brownfield Exploration reviews in liaison with the CSGs.
Participate and/or lead Independent Peer Reviews of Development Projects
Evaluate Asset directional planning outputs and provide advice to Assets on improvement plans
