General Summary Senior Designer Job - United States:
The Designer is a resource to the engineering departments. Receiving directions from a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Supervisor, this position will support engineering and manufacturing in producing consistent, accurate drawings of assemblies and components. In addition, the position will be responsible for maintaining Bills of Material. Design work is a key component of this position and the successful candidate will be expected to execute minimally to moderately complex design projects.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
• Determines scale, performs basic mathematical calculations and prepares layouts for detailing.
• Implements required changes to resolve field problems and improve product performance and reliability.
• Assist in analysis of problem areas and recommends solutions.
• Assists with building prototypes and in validation through testing (when available).
• Review customer’s specifications and propose designs to meet those specifications.
• Create customer drawings of the proposed equipment to be included into the customer proposal.
• Reviewing and checking of drawings, including detailed tolerance studies
Qualifications & personal attributes Senior Designer Job - United States
• 5 + years experience in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic design of subsea products.
• Intermediate knowledge and experience with SolidWorks software or other 3D software.
• Skilled using AutoCad in generating detail drawings and schematics.
• Ability to produce complex technical design layouts and proposals.
• Experience with Subsea and Topside equipment a benefit.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, and the ability to work well under stress and time pressures
