A fantastic new opportunity has arisen for a Senior Geologist within one of New Zealand’s leading exploration and production companies.
The organisation’s developing portfolio has facilitated additional growth within its Geosciences team, and they now require the support of an experienced Geologist to provide technical and business expertise to a variety of exploration initiatives.
With their expanding international interests, you will have the opportunity to provide a significant contribution to the company’s projects across South-East Asia, in addition to playing an important role in the peer review of the company’s operations in New Zealand and elsewhere.
Your role will include the following key features:
- Performing geological evaluations for new exploration leads and asset acquisition opportunities.
- Data interpretation and integration across the geosciences disciplines.
- Prospect generation and development of strategies for blocks currently held, bid-rounds and farm-in opportunities.
- Providing support to operational activities including drilling and data acquisition.
- Assessment and review of joint venture technical proposals and results.
- Interfacing with NOC’s, government and regulatory agencies.
You will ideally demonstrate extensive geosciences experience (12+ years), with a strong background in petroleum geology projects within South-East Asia. You will be a tertiary qualified scientist, capable of executing projects and working effectively within multi-disciplinary exploration teams. A special strength in at least some of carbonate reservoir systems, source rock geochemistry, modelling, or probabilistic risk analysis would be preferred.
