Position Summary The Eagle Ford team is searching for a geophysicist with a background in regional interpretation to support field development activities. This individual will be required to integrate and standardize data from multiple sources; and recognize the limitations of the data. The responsibilities of the geophysicist will be execution of key projects and provide regional interpretation of valuable seismic attributes related to the understanding of unconventional resources. The individual will work closely with geophysical counterparts, reservoir engineers, geologists, and Subsurface Technology. The successful candidate will work with others on the Asset team and Operations teams including geologists, reservoir engineers, petrophysicists,geochemists, geophysicists, drillers, and operations geologists. The Eagle Ford asset is one of the most rapidly growing and active programs in Lower 48 with sixteen drilling rigs currently in the area. This data-rich asset includes over 1500 square miles of 3D seismic which includes a 400 square mile ZenSeis high quality survey acquired in 2011, and 40+ COP-drilled vertical pilot wells. Over the next couple of years, the horizontal well program will develop approximately 220,000 acres in South Texas. As ConocoPhillips transitions to a pure-play E&P company, the Eagle Ford asset affords geoscientists one of the best opportunities to impact the company while increasing their long-term professional worth.

Responsibilities
· Work within a multidisciplinary team to establish and achieve team goals
· Proficient in interpreting in both 2D and 3D datasets
· Provide interpretations of the seismic data utilizing various seismic attributes
· Provide interpretation of Inversion/AVO products
· Periodically update velocity models with new wells for time/depth conversion
· Provide interpretation through incorporation of azimuthal analysis
· Take on a key role in executing and interpreting microseismic information
· Evaluate well performance as part of a team by integrating multiple variables related to well trajectory, well stimulations, and geoscience parameters
· Provide a supporting role in the implementation and execution of horizontal wells
· Provide geophysical support, as needed, for acquisitions or divestitures
· Participate in the development, management, and execution of short and long-term resource development plans
· Participate in ongoing assessments of competitive landscape and reconnaissance of industry activity
· Participation and support in periodic Team and Management reviews
· Participate in knowledge sharing and effectively communicate learning’s to the unconventional community and strengthen ConocoPhillips position in becoming a leader in unconventional resource plays
· Understand and follow all safety procedures
Qualifications
Basic/Required:
· Legally authorized to work in the United States
· Bachelor's Degree in Geophysics
· 3+ years of industry experience
· OpenWorks/SeisWorks and/or PowerView skills
Preferred:
· Experience in unconventional gas resource plays
· Ability to keep pace with an active drilling program and react to the dynamics as information changes our knowledge of unconventional gas resources
· Proven track record of effective teamwork within a geoscience and engineering team
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
· Initiative to work without constant supervision, displaying innovative skills in using the proper tools to effectively characterize reservoir potential
· StratWorks/Hampson Russell/WellSeismicFusion familiarity
