Post-doctoral Researcher – Seismic Acquisition and Processing,
Geophysics Department.
2-year fixed-term contract.
£38,000 – £42,000 per annum (dependant on experience and qualifications) + benefits 35 hours per week
The seismic acquisition and processing group is looking for candidates for a 2-year post-doctoral position conducting research into the evaluation and optimization of new seismic data acquisition platforms. The main accountabilities include seismic model building; synthetic seismic data generation and seismic data processing, analysis and evaluation, which you will be required to report on both orally and in writing.
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent experience in geophysics, preferably seismics; knowledge of seismic data processing, seismic imaging and seismic modeling, and fluency in relevant programming languages such as Matlab and C++ are desirable. Advanced knowledge and experience in digital signal processing techniques, and knowledge and experience in compressing sensing technology would be considered advantageous.
