Role synopsis
A number of Instrument and Control Engineer positions are available for Azerbaijani citizens with engineering experience in this discipline. Successful job holders will be responsible for delivering specialist technical support and assurance for integrated control and safety system (ICSS) hardware and software systems whether it is for onshore, offshore topsides, hull or subsea systems and Research & Development.

Key accountabilities
Specific roles will vary, but are likely to cover aspects of the following
-Conceptual and front-end designs for modifications and projects
-Design, installation and verification of Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS) and Plant Logic Controller (PLC)
-Commission facilities and technical troubleshooting (e.g. control loop tuning)
-Alarm rationalisation studies
-Design of operator training simulators, data historians and human machine interfaces; Design and assessment of ICSS digital security
-Development and maintenance of BP’s internal instrument and control Engineering Technical Practices (ETPs); Involvement with the development of industry standards and practices
-Analysis and optimisation of plant performance (including with advanced control and optimisation)
-Produce recommendations for equipment operation or maintenance improvements
-Participate in Root Cause and Failure Analysis (RCFA)
-Provide technical guidance on application of codes, standards, project design criteria and ETPs; Assist the business to develop, maintain and help ensure on-going compliance with BP requirements and support the C&A Community of Practice (CoP) and the wider Instrument, Control and Electrical (ICE) Network

Essential Education
-Degree in Engineering or related discipline

Essential experience and job requirements
-Minimum 4 year experience in Instrument & Control installations in the Oil & Gas industry
-Experience in the ICSS (Integrated Control and Safety System ) design and/or operation at oil and gas processing facilities

Other essential skills and knowledge -Chartered/Professional Engineer preferred
-Working knowledge of industry and government standards such as IEC, EEMUA and/or ISA, NEC, API requirements for facilities ideally including hardware and software configuration of DCS / SCADA and SIS

Desirable criteria & qualifications -Experience of operator training simulators, data historians, loop tuning, alarm systems, digital security and human machine interfaces
