AltaGas requires an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated individual to join our team reporting to the Director Engineering – FG&P as a Senior Operations Engineer. Your proficient work skills, commitment and team-oriented approach will provide exceptional support to the Field Gathering and Processing Operations team located in the Calgary office.
Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to the following:
Project Engineering services, including drawing and design review and process hazard analysis; construction liaison; commissioning and start-up support;
Project management of capital projects including project development, project execution, estimating and cost tracking, reporting and documentation; and managing 3rd party engineering firms; project scoping; preparing AFE’s;
Process troubleshooting to meet design and contractual performance requirements;
Process control optimization to ensure performance, reliability, and gas quality targets are met;
Ongoing operational support for continuous improvement in EH&S and quality management programs;
Technical support for regulatory reporting, compliance programs, sour gathering, sour disposal, acid gas injection, water injection, liquids pipelines and sweet gas gathering pipelines, inlet separation, condensate processing, compression, amine processing, turbo expander, and associated storage facilities;
Leading and mentoring Junior and Intermediate Operations Engineers.
Qualifications:
University degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering supplemented with a minimum of 7 years’ experience;
Professional Engineer designation with APEGGA;
Experience with field operations and troubleshooting;
Project engineering and management experience;
Knowledge and experience with sour gas processing, deep-cut (turbo-expander) and NGL recovery;
Good working knowledge of ERCB, OGC, OH&S and Alberta Environment regulations.
